Participation of the PROTEAS project in the 2nd Conference on Technological Novelty and Civil Protection “SafeChania 2015: The Knowledge Triangle in the Civil Protection Service (Education, Research, Innovation)”

The PROTEAS project participated in the 2nd Conference on Technological Novelty and Civil Protection entitled: “SafeChania 2015: The Knowledge Triangle in the Civil Protection Service (Education, Research, Innovation)” that was organised by the Technical University of Crete –  Research Group of Spatial Informatics, Laboratory of Geodesy and Geomatics, in collaboration with the Municipality of Chania – K.E.P.PE.DI.H.-KAM, the Technological Educational Institute of Crete and the Region of Crete on 10-14 June 2015 in Chania. The conference aimed at highlighting the potential that is offered by the Knowledge Triangle (Education, Research, Innovation) on civil protection activities such as natural and technological disasters, search and rescue missions, humanitarian aid, etc.

The PROTEAS project actively participated in the conference with a scientific publication entitled “Raising Awareness of Response Bodies on Health, Safety & Environmental Risks and Accident Prevention in Supply/ Distribution of Fuels and other Dangerous Substances: The PROTEAS Protocol”. PROTEAS’ participation also included a display stand in the exhibition area presenting and highlighting the key results of the project and informing all stakeholders and competent authorities on Safety, Health and Environment risks and accident prevention during the transportation and distribution of fuels and other dangerous substances.
